WebDec 8, 2024 · It turned out to be because my Power Plan setting was on High Performance. I swapped it to Balanced, saw the CPU throttle properly, and forgot it for a few days. Then I noticed it doing the same thing. Same issue, I switched to Balanced and it worked properly. But about 5 seconds later, it switched back to High Performance. WebThe CPU will run at its highest possible boost clock even when at idle. You may ask what is the point if this but it affects DPC latency and system responsiveness. Some programs / games may run better as if the CPU isn't being fully utilized, sometimes it might downclock some of the cores potentially creating stuttering and input lag.
