To remove the headliner board look real closely at the fittings around the edge. You will need to remove those fittings on one side (then you can pull it out from the other side).

That's why it's a losing battle to try to put more glue in.-mB Absolutely correct. If the OP wants the problem to go away, the headliner will need to be replaced outright.
